Look for the SEND Friends certificate — every accredited business proudly displays theirs on show, so you know their staff have completed the training. Many also carry a Fidget Friends Bag of fidget toys your child can use during your visit.

The training really opened my eyes on children’s behaviour — not all children are naughty. To be honest, I was one of those people who thought “why is that child so disruptive?” But having listened to Kane’s World training, I so get it. Keep up the marvellous work you do.
Well, what an education that training was. It certainly made me think about things we see in our shop and realise that these kids are not all “naughty” — their brains just process things differently. And these parents are doing an amazing job with their children. These families need our help and support, NOT judgement.
The Savoury Cafe is now a supportive and fully non-judgemental space where families can feel accepted no matter what. We’ve learnt how to recognise needs, reduce pressure and help children and parents feel understood. We are proud to be a place where everyone can feel genuinely welcome.
We all thoroughly enjoyed the training — honest and informative. As Centre Manager it made me think about how we may have misjudged situations on the mall. A smile and a “you’re doing great” can make such a difference to parents and carers. The fidget bags will be a huge success.
