Making Sense Together – A Celebration of Inclusion and Connection

We were absolutely thrilled to be part of the Making Sense Together event on Thursday 14th August 2025, held in Darlington’s vibrant Market Square.

The day was a wonderful celebration of inclusion, understanding, and community spirit—bringing together families, children, charities, and professionals all committed to supporting people with learning disabilities and autism.

It was fantastic to connect with so many parents and children, as well as other inspiring local organisations and SEND-focused groups. Events like this remind us just how powerful it is to work together—and how much strength there is in our shared experiences.

We were especially pleased to see Lola McEvoy MP in attendance, showing her support and taking the time to chat with us about the work we’re doing at Kane’s World Foundation. We spoke about our mission to create an inclusive, accessible space for children with SEND and their families, and how important it is to keep pushing for more support, more visibility, and more joy in everyday life.

The day itself was full of fun, with highlights including:

✨ Craft sessions with Miss Print and Scrap Studios
🍃 Nature-inspired art from Meraki Reconnect
💃 Dance & play sessions with Intertwined
🦎 Animal encounters, face painting, and bubble fun galore
🧘‍♂️ Quiet spaces for those needing calm
🛍 Sensory stalls and inclusive play ideas

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Kane’s World stand, shared stories with us, and helped build a more connected, inclusive future. Events like this are the heart of what we do—and we’re so excited for what’s ahead.

Together, we’re making sense of the world—one smile, one conversation, and one act of support at a time.
