Kane’s World was born out of my life — the daily experiences, struggles, and small victories that come with being the parent of a neurodiverse little boy in a world that wasn’t built with him, and so so many like him, in mind.
Being a parent is never easy, but being a parent to a child who sees, feels, and experiences the world differently brings a unique set of challenges. What hurt the most wasn’t my son’s differences — it was society’s reaction to them. The judgment. The sideways glances. The lack of understanding. The coldness that came from people who couldn’t look past “different” long enough to see the beautiful soul within.
We didn’t have a “village.” The support, empathy, and inclusion that many families take for granted just weren’t there for us. It often felt like we were standing alone, trying to fit into a world that kept pushing us to change — to mold my son into something “acceptable” rather than celebrating who he truly is.
One day, I decided enough was enough.
I was done bowing down to the norms of a neurotypical world.
I was done accepting the boundaries that didn’t serve my child.
So, I chose to create our own world — Kane’s World — a place that would see my son for who he is, not for who society thinks he should be. A world that would adapt to him, rather than expecting him to constantly adapt to it.
The most rewarding part of this journey has been witnessing the incredible transformation that happens when neurodiverse children are surrounded by others like themselves. There’s an unspoken understanding among them — a quiet recognition. You can see it in their eyes, their calmness, their joy. The sense of being accepted without question. It’s as if, in that moment, they know they are among their own.
That’s what Kane’s World is all about.
It’s not just a place — it’s a movement.
A message to every child and parent out there who has ever felt misunderstood or unseen: You belong. You matter. You don’t need to change who you are to fit in — the world can change for you.
