I had the privilege of delivering our SEND Friend training at the Cornmill, and I honestly left feeling so hopeful.
The response from businesses and organisations across Darlington has been incredible. Seeing so many people give up their time because they genuinely want to better understand and support children and families with SEND is something really special. In total over the 3 sessions we had approx 35 people ![]()
The feedback from every single session was heart-warming. Watching people become emotional as they recognised the daily challenges our families face spoke volumes. Awareness creates understanding, and understanding creates change. Today felt like another important step in making Darlington a more inclusive place for everyone ![]()
A huge thank you to Zoe at the Cornmill for being such a passionate ally. Your commitment to growing awareness, encouraging inclusion and driving positive change is inspiring, and we are so grateful for your continued support ![]()
We were also incredibly grateful to receive a very generous £100 donation from the Cornmill towards Kane’s World. Support like this allows us to continue creating opportunities, events and services for SEND families across our community, and every penny truly makes a difference. Thank you so much for believing in what we do ![]()
Thank you to everyone who attended today. Your willingness to listen, learn and make a difference means more than you know. Every person who completes this training helps create a community where our families feel more understood, welcomed and valued.
If your business, organisation or workplace would like to take part in our SEND Friend training, we’d love to hear from you.
