Off to the Races!

The sun was shining and we had a brilliant day at Catterick Racecourse raising awareness and funds for Kane’s World Foundation. :sunny::purple_heart:

But the most poignant moment of the day came from a gentleman, around 80 years old, who quietly placed £100 into the donation bucket. He shared that he is dyslexic, and back in his day at school he was simply labelled “stupid” and even received the cane for not being able to do things.

We often hear “there was none of this in my day”… but this moment proves otherwise. It has always been there — the difference is awareness, understanding and acceptance. Generations before didn’t have the language, support or compassion that we’re fighting to build today.

Thank you to everyone who supported us, donated, stopped to chat, and helped spread awareness. And a special thank you to that gentleman — your story and generosity won’t be forgotten.
